Simone Levorato, University of Padova, Italy - Student nurse
"I have always been interested in working in palliative care and coming to North London Hospice and seeing firsthand the fantastic work they do has reaffirmed this for me. In Italy we only have a few Hospices, most of palliative care is provided at patients’ homes. I feel very privileged to have been given this opportunity to work on the Inpatient Unit at the Hospice. For me it’s about the personal relationship between a medical professional and a patient, providing care at a Hospice you really feel that personal link."
Maria-Eirini Galanaki - MSc in Oncology Nursing and Palliative Care at the University of Athens
"My working placement with the Hospice was a unique experience and an essential part of my post-graduate MSc program in Oncology Nursing and Palliative Care. It has certainly broadened my educational horizon and upgraded my nursing skills. I am now familiar with world class palliative care techniques and methods and understand its principles. I particularly enjoyed the warm and hearted environment of the Hospice, where everyone has embraced me with their love and support and have made me a part of their team."
