Family friendly annual sponsored bike ride starting at Queenswood School, Brookmans Park. 20 or 40 mile circular route around the Hertfordshire countryside with refreshments and homemade cakes back at the school. All sponsorship goes straight to patient care at the Hospice.

China's importance to the world has never been more apparent than it is today. But the truth is China has always been a major power and even in the eighteenth century, when many considered China dormant, it was still the world's largest economy. The talk will give an overview of about 5000 years of Chinese history and explain China's importance to world history, despite its one real "blip" from c. 1800 to 1980. Since then the country has of course re-emerged and is now playing a vital place on the world stage.
