Beavers, Cubs and Scouts from the 16th Hendon Scout Group have raised £515 for North London Hospice. This fundraising project was specifically in memory of Susan Kadar who was Cub Leader with 16th Hendon and also active with 8th Hendon Scouts. Fundraising activities started with the young people filling sweet tubes with money and extended to selling homemade cakes and other initiatives. Alan Thomas, Group Scout Leader said: “We chose to raise funds for the North London Hospice this year because of its link to our greatly missed Cub and Scout Leader, Susan Kadar. The North London Hospice is a fantastic, local charity and it was great to see the group getting behind it, from our youngest Beavers aged 6, to our young leaders in their teens.” Spokesperson, North London Hospice said: “We really appreciate having 16th Hendon Scout Group behind us this year and were impressed at the inventive ways they went about raising funds. We rely on donations and legacies to meet the cost of providing three quarters of our care, so this donation will be put to excellent use.”
