On Thursday 12 September Highgate Golf Club hosted a charity golf day in aid of North London Hospice. The event was a great success. Over £21,000 was raised for the Hospice. 24 teams of four played on a lovely afternoon. Prize Giving was followed by an excellent BBQ dinner for over 100 people, after which there was a Charity Auction and Raffle. Organiser David Stenhouse said: “The generosity of our members and their guests, combined with the brilliance of our charming auctioneer, Henry Kelly, gave an outstanding result in funds raised for this most excellent cause. We were fortunate, also, to have the continuing support of Highgate Private Hospital”. Only one of the many charitable activities that take place at Highgate Golf Club, this was the 14th year of this event. To date it has now raised £157k for good causes, of which, £138k has gone to North London Hospice since 2003. Mr Stenhouse added “The North London Hospice does fantastic work. We are delighted to contribute to their funds once again.” North London Hospice cares for terminally ill patients, their friends and families in the boroughs of Barnet, Enfield and Haringey. North London Hospice community fundraiser Tracy Annunziato said: “The Highgate Golf Day has raised a huge amount of money for the Hospice over the years, for which we are extremely grateful. The day would not be possible without the dedication of David and his fellow Highgate Golf Club members.”
