Families are being encouraged to strap on their helmets and get pedalling in a charity bike ride this summer. North London Hospice is urging bike owners to sign-up to its annual cycle ride around the Hertfordshire countryside. Participants can opt between a 20 or 40 mile route that starts and ends at Queenswood School, Brookmans Park, on Sunday 9 June. Fundraising manager Judi Guy said: “It’s a great event the whole family can take part in together. Last year, we had more than 200 cyclists take part. Hopefully it will attract both the serious and more leisurely cyclist. “All the care we provide to our patients and their families is free. This event is part of the Hospice’s fundraising programme that aims to raise more than £6 million each year to run and develop our services.” North London Hospice, which has sites in both Finchley and Enfield, provides specialist palliative care for people with a life limiting illness. The Hospice focuses on enabling patients to live their lives to the full and providing the best quality of life. Registration is £15 adult, £5 child or £35 family. To register visit the forthcoming events section of the website or call the fundraising team on 020 8446 2288.
