Hospice unveils new family and visitor shower room

There are times when family members stay at the Hospice with their loved ones for several days and sometimes longer. The Hospice received feedback that access to a shower would make a big difference to those going through a very difficult time.

With the help of a generous donation by Barnet and District CancerLink this was made possible last month. Barnet and District CancerLink donated £20,000 towards refurbishments at the Hospice one of which was a visitor shower room. The nurses and clinical staff changing rooms were also part of this refurbishment.

Eve Greenway from Barnet and District CancerLink said: “It’s really good to see our money going towards something that directly benefits families and visitors to the Hospice. Sometimes it’s the simple things that make a big difference when you are going through a tough and emotionally demanding time.”

Pam McClinton, chief executive at North London Hospice said: “On behalf of the Hospice, I’d like to thank Barnet and District CancerLink for their generous donation, towards the newly refurbished visitor shower room at Finchley. The room is available 24 hours a day and towels and toiletries are provided. We hope that it will help to make visitors a little more comfortable during the time they spend at the Hospice.”
