The Hospice was buzzing with a new team of volunteers earlier this month who spent the day giving a helping hand to rejuvenate the hospice gardens. The legal team at Pentland UK, started their day with a tour of the Hospice in Finchley, where they were given an insight into the support and care given by staff and volunteers. Julian Harris from Pentland UK said: “It was a truly humbling and moving experience. We were delighted to be able to make a difference to the daily lives of the staff, patients and their families. Restoring the garden to its former glory was very satisfying, but the heartfelt thanks of the staff at the end of the day – and the volunteer gardener, who told us it would have taken him a whole year to do what we’d accomplished – was the icing on the cake of a wonderful day.” Throughout the day, the team got stuck into various invigorating tasks including, gardening, weeding, sanding and painting garden furniture and chopping down some very overgrown trees and bushes. If you are part of a community group or would like to involve your colleagues in volunteering for the Hospice please do get in touch on 020 8446 2288.
