Nurses were showered with tea and homemade cakes as a special thank you for the work they do caring for patients with a life limiting illnesses in Barnet and Enfield. North London Hospice organised the tea party on Monday 12 May as part of the global celebrations marking International Nurses Day. The free wood search draw in aid of International Nurses Day, also took place at the tea party with one lucky resident from NW1 winning a Heal’s hamper worth £100. Fran Dean, Director of clinical services at the hospice, said: “It’s great to see our supporters recognise the important role that our nurses play in treating our patients in the hospice and in the community. It is important that our nurses feel valued and appreciated and days like this allow us to come together and show our appreciation of their hard work and dedication.”   The nurses were given a round of applause before tucking into tea and cake at the Hospice in Woodside Avenue, North Finchley.
