North London Hospice has started working with the charity PhysioNet to provide unneeded or unusable mobility aids that cannot be used by Hospice patients. PhysioNet was established in 2005 with the aim of providing physiotherapy and mobility equipment for the disabled in developing countries.
Evonne Kozak, physiotherapist at North London Hospice said: “Many of the mobility aids we receive are donated without a service history, therefore we are unable to pass them on to other patients. Now with the new partnership we can make sure that the equipment goes to a good cause and benefits those in need. We hope this will be an enduring partnership.”
PhysioNet has been sending mobility aids around the world since 2005 has had a huge impact on helping the disabled in the developing world.
