Who is this course for?

All clinical and non-clinical staff including volunteers who through their work may come into contact with people approaching the end of their lives.

Course Content:

Effective communication skills are fundamental to providing high quality care for people approaching the end of their lives and to properly support those close to them. There is, however, much evidence to suggest that the healthcare workforce lack confidence and skills when discussing end of life care. This foundation study day explains the importance of good communication, explores barriers to and methods of communication and culminates in the opportunity to practice dealing with difficult conversations.
