Three Peaks in a Week
Event date15 July 2020
Think you could conquer the Three Peaks in a Week to help raise funds for North London Hospice?
What is the ‘Three Peaks in a Week’ Challenge?
Scafell Pike, Ben Nevis and Mount Snowdon. These three mountains are a part of the infamous Three Peaks Challenge of the UK, and are the highest mountains in England, Scotland and Wales. They have a combined height of 10,052 feet and take approximately 37km to cover.
Many groups in the past have succeeded in completing this challenge in 24 hours, but with the limitations of COVID-19, many challenges like this have had to be postponed. But don’t despair, North London Hospice is offering you the opportunity to complete this challenge – virtually of course!
We challenge you to run, jog or walk 37km or 48,557 steps for North London Hospice within a week, and conquer these virtual mountains in a week! You can do this by going up and down your own stairs, running around your garden, or walking in the countryside or your neighbourhood (while keeping to government social distancing guidelines).
How can I get involved?
Getting involved couldn’t be easier. This challenge is open to everyone, and all you need is a pedometer which you can find inbuilt in your phone, or there are lots of free apps like Strava and MapMyWalk which can track the steps for you too. It’s doesn’t matter if you are a fitness fan or a complete beginner. The aim is to cover 37km or 48,557 steps while raising awareness and funds for a good cause.
You can even make this a group challenge, and divide up the distance with your friends or family to cover together as a team. This might be good training for the real thing one day!
