Get Your School Involved
We are really keen to involve local schools in our schools outreach programme and raise awareness of the work that we do throughout North London.
We appreciate that talking about Hospice care with young people can be a difficult and sensitive subject. However, we feel it is important because pupils may know someone we have cared for in recent years – teachers, parents, grandparents or friends – or have unanswered questions about end-of-life care. With this in mind, we have made our assemblies age-appropriate and interactive. We bring along a special treasure chest of items that symbolise the care we provide and encourage pupils to suggest what each item represents. We believe this helps give them an understanding of what we do and provide a positive learning experience within the context of the PSHE curriculum.
There are lots of ways students can get involved in supporting the Hospice. Recently, local schools have taken part in our creative arts project, choirs have sung at the Hospice for our patients, and pupils and teachers have fundraised for us throughout the year.
If you would like to arrange an assembly, get involved or have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact Ashra on 020 8446 2288 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
