Community Palliative Care Nurse
The North London Hospice Community Services – Providing community palliative care to Barnet Enfield and Haringey
If you are interested in compassionate care for people towards the end of their life then we have exciting opportunities for both experienced nurses and those who wish to develop expertise in Palliative and End of life care. Following investment in End of Life care from the CCGs in Barnet, Enfield and Haringey as part of the North Central London Sustainability and Transformation Partnership we are extending our community teams to enable us to provide support to more people and their family and friends in the last year of life.
This means recruiting additional staff to work in our established community palliative care teams working across all community services, including triage and health and wellbeing.
We aim to support people diagnosed with life limiting illness, and their family and friends to be cared for in their preferred place of care which is usually their own home and prevent unwanted admissions to hospitals. The new investment will mean we will offer support to people earlier on in their illness helping them to develop advanced care plans to ensure their wishes and preferences are met and they are fully supported throughout their journey.
We are looking for Band 6 nurses to join our teams, ideally you will have experience in one of the following areas; community nursing, palliative care, end of life care or oncology, however, we value experience in a variety of settings and are looking for staff who are enthusiastic and want to deliver compassionate, patient-centred care.
Please state in the additional information of the application why you want to work in palliative care and the qualities you feel you would bring to the role.
We offer continuation of the NHS pension scheme, salary in line with agenda for change, including enhancements, inner London supplement and NHS-aligned annual leave. We also offer ongoing professional development, and support with revalidation, as well as a fully-funded health cash plan, workplace perks, discounted cinema scheme, etc. If you are keen to develop your skills and work in a friendly team this could be the opportunity for you.
