It’s Dying Matters Awareness Week (13-19 May) and this year’s theme is Are We Ready? North London Hospice has a host of activity taking place to get the conversation started about death, dying and bereavement.

Having a clear out can seem a daunting task but we can help. Come along to our Decluttering Event at our Winchmore Hill shop (743 Green Lanes, N21) on Tuesday 14 May to get help and advice from expert Juliet Landau Pope. She’ll be providing tips on decluttering your home – and your life – between 11am-1pm. Plus there’ll be tea and cakes!

On Wednesday 15 May we are delighted to be hosting an event at the Meritage Centre in Hendon with Barnet Clinical Commissioning Group focused on this year’s Dying Matters theme Are We Ready?

There will be workshops, discussions, theatre and dance that will focus the mind on preparing for death. Whether you’re a carer, a volunteer, a family member, someone living with a life-limiting condition or just want to learn more about preparing for a ‘good death’, come along for a thought-provoking day. Tickets are free so register here www.barnetdyingmatters.eventbrite.co.uk

The Health & Wellbeing Centre at Barrowell Green will be hosting a Death Café on Thursday 16 May from 2 – 3.30pm. Come along drink tea, eat cake and discuss death. Death Café’s provide a good opportunity to not only discuss all aspects concerned with dying but also making the most of our (finite) lives.

On Friday 17 May, if you’ve reason to be at Barnet General Hospital do pop along to see our Education Team who’ll be hosting a stall at the End of Life Care Study Day.
