Our Anglican chaplain Steven Young completed his mammoth challenge to snowboard at every snow centre in Great Britain in ONE DAY on Tuesday (26 Feb) raising more than £1600 for North London Hospice.

Father Steven took to the slopes at 7am at Hemel Hempstead’s The Snow Centre then headed northwards visiting snow domes in Milton Keynes, Tamworth, Castleford and Manchester before arriving at Glasgow’s Snowfactor just before it closed at 10pm.

It’s believed to be the first time anyone has attempted the 478 mile journey to ski or snowboard at all six GB centres in one day.

Father Steven, who is vicar at St Michael’s Church in Mill Hill, said: “It was a long but exciting day and we made it to Glasgow in the nick of time – just enough time to get up and down the slope! North London Hospice provides incredible end of life care and family support and it’s a privilege to volunteer for them. I’m so grateful for all the encouragement I received on the day and delighted to have beaten my £1000 target. Thanks to everyone that donated.”

The money raised will go towards funding patient care.
