Declutter for NLH

Join The Declutter for North London Hospice Campaign AND meet the clutter guru who will help you get started

If you’re wondering what to do with those unwanted gifts or clothes you’ve not worn all winter, then here’s your guilt-free chance to donate them to a great cause.

North London Hospice is launching its #Declutterfornlh campaign on Thursday 1 February in a bid to encourage residents, businesses and community groups across Barnet, Enfield and Haringey to donate good quality unwanted items to its 17 shops across the three boroughs.

To support the #Declutterfornlh campaign launch North London Hospice has invited professional organiser and author Juliet Landau-Pope to its Enfield Town shop on Saturday 24th March. In the week she launches her new book What’s Your Excuse for not Clearing Your Clutter? Juliet will be offering practical advice on how to improve organising habits as well as where to start when it comes to decluttering your home.

North London Hospice’s Chief Executive Pam McClinton said: “We all receive so many charity bags through our doors these days, it can be hard to know who to give to and how much of the funds raised actually reach the nominated cause. Our 17 shops provide a vital income supply that comes directly to support the patients and families receiving care from your local Hospice. Our declutterfornlh campaign is a gentle reminder to people to send us their donations – they will be gratefully received and you will feel better for having the clear out!”

Taking part is as easy as 1,2,3:

Step 1 – Sort out items you no longer use, wear or need. We are delighted to receive clothing and accessories, shoes, toys and games, DVD’s, CD’s, bric-a-brac, household items, books and gift sets.

Step 2 – Take a photo of your decluttered stash and post it on facebook/twitter/instagram and tag North London Hospice. Don’t forget to use the declutterfornlh hashtag.

Step 3 – Take your unwanted items to one of our 17 shops in the boroughs of Barnet, Enfield and Haringey. Your donations will be turned into funds for the Hospice to provide vital care for people in these three boroughs.

“Most of us own more than we will ever need – clothes, shoes, books, gadgets, toys, you name it!” said Juliet Landau-Pope. “We constantly accumulate things but rather than enhance our lives, they contribute to stress and anxiety. People are starting to recognise the benefits of streamlining. And by giving to a cause such as North London Hospice, you’ll feel good about your clear out on different levels.”

Kick-start your clear out by going along to NLH’s Enfield Town shop at 60 Church Street, EN2 6AX between 11.30am-1pm on March 24th and gain some valuable advice on where to start.
