Launch event marks renaming of Hospice Health and Wellbeing Centre

North London Hospice will be showcasing the services at its Winchmore Hill Health and Wellbeing Centre during a special event to mark the renaming of the centre on Thursday March 15th.
The new Health and Wellbeing Centre name replaces ‘Outpatients and Therapies’ and better reflects the multi-professional approach to enable patients and their families who attend the centre to live as well as they possibly can and improve their quality of life.
The Mayor of Enfield, Christine Hamilton, and Enfield Southgate MP Bambos Charalambous are set to join GPs and health practitioners, church, school and business leaders and residents close to the Barrowell Green site for the event, which begins at 2pm.
The range of services is broad from medical, psychological and emotional support to complementary therapy, rehabilitation and our social programme. Examples of these activities – including art and drama therapy, acupuncture and seated reiki – will be demonstrated throughout the afternoon on March 15. Guests will also have opportunities to talk to those who use the services, volunteers and staff.
“We want to highlight the life-enriching activities that we offer and get away from the impression that hospice services are only for those at the end of life,” said Trudi Leighton, the Associate Director at the Health and Wellbeing Centre. “The Health and Wellbeing centre offers a wealth of services that empower people to live their lives as well as possible for whatever amount of time they have left. We hope our event provides guests with a better understanding of our services and how we are able to support people with life-limiting illnesses.”
The event will run from 2-7pm with an official launch at 4.15pm. A full programme of the day can be viewed here
