Lions Club of Chipping Barnet fund new equipment for the Hospice

Local community group the Lions Club of Chipping Barnet presented a cheque to the Hospice for £3158 on Tuesday 24 June. The money raised through various charitable events organised by the club, will go towards the purchase of two specialist beds for the Hospice’s in patient unit. The Lions Club has been active in Chipping Barnet for 32 years, raising money for local, national and international causes. Nilesh Vaghadia , President of the Lions Club of Chipping Barnet said: “The Lions Club ethos is supporting worthwhile causes both on a local and international level. We choose three to four charities a year and this year North London Hospice was one of them. Six months ago we visited the Hospice and were given a talk about what the Hospice did. We were able to see what a great place it is and what fantastic care they provide to the local community.” Debra Binder, Community and Events Manager said: “We are extremely grateful to the Lions Club of Chipping Barnet for choosing us as their local charity We really depend on the support of our local community to enable us to continue the vital work we do; caring for patients with a life limiting illness and supporting their family and friends. ” The Lions Club of Chipping Barnet has over seventeen members and meets every second Wednesday of every month in North Finchley. The organisation are always looking for new members to join the club and help them raise money for charitable organisations.
