North London Hospice opened its brand new shop in High Barnet this week with help from a very special fundraiser.

13-year-old Annie Miller gave up chocolate for a whole year in 2019 and raised over £1000 for patient care for the hospice that cared for her grandma. So we invited our fantastic fundraiser to join our new Chief Executive Declan Carroll to officially open the largest shop in our network at 120 High Street on Tuesday 8thSeptember.

Annie said: “The North London Hospice is so important to me and my family because they looked after my Grandma when she was so unwell. Every penny raised when someone buys something from one of their shops goes to looking after and caring for patients and families.”

This is North London Hospice’s 18thshop in Barnet, Enfield & Haringey and opens at a very challenging time for the charity as it strives to plug a huge drop in income caused by the pandemic.

Chief Executive Declan Carroll added: “North London Hospice’s shops usually

raise £1 million of the £13 million needed each year to support end of life care for more than 2,600 patients and their families. Our High Barnet shop will also house our new eBay sales team who provide an opportunity for customers to buy some of our unique, rare, antique or designer items from our network of shops anytime from anywhere. Thanks to the community who have been supporting us through purchases and donations in recent months and I’m pleased to say that almost all of our shops have now reopened.”
