North London Hospice Week 2014

North London Hospice will be hosting a week of raising awareness and funds for the Hospice. North London Hospice Week will take place from March 3 to March 9 – and the leading local charity is urging people in the local community to get involved.
The Hospice is encouraging individuals, businesses, groups and schools to take part by holding their own fundraising events such as cake sales, coffee mornings, dress down days, quiz nights or by simply making a donation of whatever they can afford.
Last year’s Hospice Week raised a staggering £45,000 for the Hospice, which cares for terminally ill patients, their families and carers and the charity hopes to repeat that success again. North London Hospice chief executive, Pam McClinton, said: “Many people don’t realise North London Hospice is a charity. The services we provide are completely free of charge and we rely on the fantastic support of thousands of individuals and businesses every year to continue providing specialist end-of-life care. “During these challenging economic times we need the support of the local community more than ever. Whatever you choose to do this Hospice Week, you can be sure you are making a difference to the lives of local people and their loved ones who depend upon the free caring services we provide.” Schools are being encouraged to hold a Dress Down Day, charging pupils and staff £1 each to wear non-uniform clothing for the day. Alternatively, hosting a Bring a Pound to Work Day is a quick and easy way to raise money for North London Hospice in the workplace. If you don’t fancy holding your own event, the Hospice, in Woodside Avenue, will be hosting a coffee morning on Thursday 6 March at 10.30am. All are welcome to pop in and enjoy a homemade slice of cake and cuppa.
