EYECARE experts in Palmers Green are championing a borough hospice throughout the month of May. Specsavers in Palmers Green will be donating £1 for every eye test carried out in store in May to North London Hospice Enfield. Jaswinder Singh Nagra, store director at Specsavers in Palmers Green, says: ‘Many of our team and, indeed, thousands of members of our community have been touched by the work of North London Hospice Enfield. By opting for a free eye test in May, you can be proactive in looking after you own wellbeing and also help support the invaluable work of the hospice.’ Jennifer Sheehy, North London Hospice’s corporate engagement manager, adds: ‘We are delighted that Specsavers in Palmers Green has chosen the hospice as the beneficiary of their latest fundraising initiative. ‘Last year, the hospice cared for more than 1400 people with a variety of life-limiting conditions in the local community. The care we provide extends beyond the patient to supporting families, friends and carers, both during a person’s illness and in bereavement. ‘On average, the NHS funds just a third of the costs of providing hospice care. We, therefore, rely on the generosity of local communities to deliver this much-needed care. We are extremely grateful to Specsavers for their support. We really hope that the general public will get behind this initiative.’ To book a free eye examination at Specsavers in Palmers Green, visit the store at Unit 359, Green Lanes, Palmers Green, London N13 4JG, call 020 8920 3150 or visit www.specsavers.co.uk/stores/palmersgreen.
