Family Stories

Eve Wilder - "I will never forget the day when we first walked in"

“Dan died peacefully at North London Hospice aged 27 and whilst nothing can compensate for the loss of our beautiful son, we are glad that he was able to spend the last months of his young life in this wonderful place. Our heartfelt thanks to all the incredible staff and volunteers who supported us. We will always remember them.”

Anne-Marie Hennessy - "The Hospice is about everyone"

“North London Hospice was and still is amazing. They made us feel positive about the time we had left as a family. Sean and I have three children. I don’t think they would have got through this if it had not been for the support of the Hospice. They could see everything was being done for their dad. The hospice is about everyone.”

Penny Stokes - "It was a break out of his normal routine and also a break for me being his full time carer."

“When people hear the word hospice they automatically think it’s to do with end of life care. Hospices offer so much more than that – giving both joy and comfort to so many people that have debilitating illnesses.”

Nicola Miller - I am writing this because I feel ready to share and I want to help others who are travelling on a similar journey. So many people have helped me along my way and it is time to give back."

I still grieve and I still
miss her more and
more each day but I have
learnt somehow to carry
that with me on my journey, and slowly step
by step I am building a new life not with her
by my side but instead
I carry her with me
in my heart. I hope she
is watching.
